5 Tips to Get Back to School Stress Free
We would all love a stress-free back to school guarantee. But let’s be realistic, stress-less would be a welcome improvement and much more obtainable goal for most of us. Here are some tips to consider when navigating the back to school countdown:
Enjoy the end of summer. Plan a family evening hike at a local park or an evening swim. A change of scenery and a break from your usual family routine can do wonders for everyone’s perspective. Spending a little extra energy in the evening may make going to bed early easier as well.
Early to bed, early to rise. Maximize a quiet morning and get everyone out the door on time by slowly adjusting to getting up early. Take the time to prep lunches each evening so they are ready to go. Have clothes laid out and ready to be put on to prevent the morning outfit scramble. Put backpacks by the door or go ahead and put them in the car to save precious minutes in the morning.
Morning Fuel. On the weekend have your kids help you select and shop for their two favorite breakfast choices for the upcoming week. When Monday morning comes, they will know what to expect when they come in for breakfast. That should help minimize discussions about what to eat in the morning and make breakfast time as easy as possible.
Jam out. Do your kids need an extra incentive to get moving in the morning? Let your children help you make a playlist that you can turn on when it’s time for them to get up and moving in the morning. If you still have a few minutes once they are dressed and ready to go, let them play on the computer or watch TV for a few minutes as a reward for a job well done. High fives to everyone as you head out the door!
We know you can do this. Here’s to an amazing school year!
